Finally, Cardhop allows users to configure a digital business card which can be easily shared using a QR code generated by the app. It’s also nice to see a dedicated Birthdays page, too, which should make it harder to forget the birthdays of your friends and family. First, there’s a Favorites page and a Recents page, both of which make it easier to find your most-used contacts. There are a few additional features in Cardhop which sweeten the deal. Cardhop then remembers your choice for the next time you send a message. Plus, there’s no limit to how many cards you can earn each year. Reward cards are issued in 20 increments and may be redeemed for merchandise or services anywhere Exchange gift cards are accepted. When you first message a contact from inside Cardhop, the app also asks for the contact’s preferred messaging platform. For every 2,000 points accumulated, you’ll automatically earn a MILITARY STAR Rewards Card delivered to the email on your MILITARY STAR account. Perhaps one of Cardhop’s best uses, though, is that the app lets iPhone and iPad owners store a wider range of contact information, and unifies all of the most popular chat apps (including WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger). While the expected text-based commands are available (such as “Call Michael” or “FaceTime John”), Cardhop also lets users update contacts, get directions, or send messages using third-party apps like Facebook Messenger and Telegram simply by typing. When you launch the app, a text field encourages users to type commands into Cardhop and these provide a smart and speedy means of interacting with them. That shouldn’t sound so revolutionary – after all, it’s what contacts are designed for – but the feel of Cardhop is quite different. It’s called Cardhop – let’s take a closer look.Ĭardhop is based around the central idea of interacting with contacts. Fortunately, the App Store is here to help: a new offering from the folks behind the excellent Fantastical could offer the perfect Contacts app replacement. It does everything you need it to without being particularly special. Some of Apple’s built-in apps aren’t quite so impressive, and one of them is undoubtedly the Contacts app.

The Mac app is a separate $20 purchase, but did get a free update today to include sync with the iOS app, favorite contacts, and directory lookup support for Google Contacts, G Suite, and Exchange.Its smart functionality, elegant design, and hidden features make Cardhop a superb replacement for the Contacts app Grab Cardhop for just $4 on the iOS App Store. To understand the power of Cardhop for iOS, I recommend watching the series of tutorial videos they got David Sparks to narrate. It’s all seamless and works exactly the way you want it to. You don’t even have to physically type anything out - just activate the mic button on the bar to have it transcribe what you say.
Or, when someone gives you their new number, you can type it into the bar followed by their name, and Cardhop will let you update their contact info. So for example, you can type “dial Chelsea” and tap the appropriate result from the search results to start a phone call. The search bar at the bottom of the app doubles as a universal input method. Like the Mac app and all versions of Fantastical, Cardhop for iOS is powered by a natural-language input system. To that end, they’ve designed an experience where you don’t just “manage contacts” or “input data” - you interact with important people in your life. 🥪Ĭardhop for iOS follows in the footsteps of Fantastical in that it’s got its sights set on replacing a default Apple app, except for contact management instead of calendaring. Today they ~finally~ launched the iOS companion, which I have to note off the bat kept with the “sandwich” icon theme (once again designed by artist David Lanham).
